Another painting from my favorite spot in Wilmington, the Arboretum.   I was so touched by the beautiful shadows that morning.  12x16, oil

Lavender crop

This is a subject I have done before in a larger format.  Driving to the beach a few years ago, I spotted this farm and pulled off the highway to take a photograph.  I have never seen this crop planted their sense.  It was truly a beautiful sight.   16x20

"Spring's message"

The blue pitcher belonged to my daughter, Kerry, who loves to bring in flowers from her garden.  The photo reference was taken when she lived in Seattle.
The painting is 8x10, oil on canvas.

"Garden ready"

More flowers.  These were some I was getting ready to plant. Makes me happy.

"Yellow roses"

I am really into painting flowers right now, particularly roses.  Mine are in full bloom.  But these were a result of photos I took several years ago when my college roommate took me to the Botanical Gardens in Philadelphia.  What a beautiful place!

I owe their "softness" to a workshop I took with Trisha Adams, who paints beautiful flowers.

Ocracoke roses

Oh, I love this one.....Jude's New Dawn roses climbing on the fence in front of the Hemp Shop.  I have New Dawns myself, but these were partly in sun, partly in shade and in full bloom.  The painting ia 10x10, oil on board.   Still in my possession for a week or so and will give a 10% discount to anyone interested....

"A delicate world"....
